If the last time you did an art project you were proud to display was when you were six, it has been far too long. Feel that same glowing pride you did in grammar school with this easy project. Sun art paper isn’t just another fun project for kids, it can also be a unique way to preserve memories.

This is my daughter Ruby at her first birthday party.

I have kept the dress, the bow, and the bracelet — but I wanted a special way to display these memories of that day in her bedroom. Sun art paper worked great.  I’m no Martha Stewart here…anyone can do this.

Tips

• Use lots of lemon juice. The more lemon you use, the darker the blue gets.
• Make sure the sun hits the paper directly. If there is a shadow on one side of your object, rotate half way through so the sun removes the shadow.
• If you want to do this with clothing, place the clothing under something very heavy for about an hour before you place it on the paper.
• Have everything ready to go before you start!
